Kris and Ashley are “The Bomb” and their shoot was  pretty much “Off The Hook” (those are for you Ash!) Really though, everyone is so excited that these two are getting married. Although the wedding will most likely be next spring sometime, Ashley really wanted to do an engagement shoot before all the fall colors were gone. It was a challenge to make that happen due to all the terrible weather we have been having this year. After a rained out Monday shoot, we were all looking forward to a nice bright Tuesday morning. But, we were a little surprised to wake up to massive amounts of dense fog covering Beloit.  We held off as long as we could, but eventually had to start shooting due to time. I was excited to get some photos in the fog because I knew it would create a cool effect. But, I also wanted some NOT in fog.  I think everything worked out great and Kris and Ashley were awesome and flexible. Here is their sneak peek.

Nice Foggy Effect.

Just some good old fashioned portraiture in a foggy field.

Happy non foggy fall color.

They brought their dog Duncan with them. He was so well behaved. I don’t see myself ever getting a dog, but if I did, it would have to be one like Duncan. At one point, while I was shooting just Kris and Ashley, Duncan was running around and exploring. Suddenly he just stopped, walked right over to us, and posed perfectly in the picture. The photo below is not that instance, but it shows what a perfect “poser” he was.  I guess Kris and ashley did a good job too.

My favorite “artsy” shot from the morning.

Thanks Kris and Ashley!

I’ve been a pretty busy girl this week. I had been looking forward to Katy and Mike’s engagement session for a while. First, just to hang out with Katy a bit and then meet Mike for the first time. And second, because we agreed to do the shoot in and near their Chicago neighborhood, Lincoln Square. Erik came with me again and we both fell in love with the area. Thanks Katy and Mike for introducing us to your neighborhood and Herman, and for doing a fantastic job!  Here is a little peak for you.

Didn’t have to go far to find places to shoot. This was in the alley behind their house.

The stairwell behind their home was cool too. Lots of ironwork.

We did some shot’s with their baby, Herman. I think they were worried that he wasn’t cooperative enough. He did a great job and he was really sweet.

Thanks Katy and Mike! I don’t think you had anything to worry about!

Could they be any cuter together? Really, I loved my time with Kaia and Josh. They are so much fun and were up for any hair brained scheme I had. And, they did an amazing job for me. I have known Josh and his family for many years, but this was my first time meeting Kaia and it was a pleasure. I am shooting their wedding in October and cannot wait! Here is just a sneak peek of some images that struck me right away.

I Lu Huv this one so very much!

I had a great session on Friday with one of my future weddding couples. Jessica and Trent will be getting married in the Fall @ Eaton Chapel on the Beloit College Campus. First off, I’m so excited that they are getting married at that location because it is so beautiful. Secondly, I’m so excited that it is going to be in the fall. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the leaves and colors will peak at just the right time.  Thirdly, I am just  excited to photograph these two on their big day because they are such a nice, laid back couple. They did a fantastic job for me (in all my bossiness and constant direction giving) and made my job so easy. Thank you guys for a really great session. I hope you like your sneak peek!

And now two pics of my girls because, afterall, it is Mother’s Day. These were taken earlier that day. It was a beautiful day and we took the girls to the turtle creek flood plain right after school for a bit.
