American Easter

April 21, 2009

This was Ashley’s first American Easter. Surprisingly, she was excited because she was familiar with some of our traditions. I guess missionaries would come every year at easter and do an egg hunt at the orphanage. She just lit up when I told her what we were gonna do. She said, “we do that in Haiti!” I don’t think they actually colored the eggs, so that was new and she especially liked that. Here are just some a few of the egg coloring festivities.

I got this egg spinner thing on clearance last year. Abra has been begging to use it for a year now. The girls loved it. No vinegar smell!!

Abra had to really put some muscle into it!

“Mom, this egg thing is really giving me a headache,” she said!

***ETA I’ve enabled comments now. So, leave me some love to see if it works! Thanks!

This is my freind Reneé (oh and her husband Ryan too-hehe) and I think she is one beautiful pregnant gal! She also has been the most happy pregnant gal I have ever seen. I’ve been pregnant. I know there are many things that come up that are worthy of a complaint or two, but that has not been Reneé’s style. I am very thankful for her, and grateful for her willingness to take on a task that happened to make my life this past year a whole lot easier. I’ve also had the privilege of teaching little ones with Reneé and know first hand that she will be an amazing mommy. Ryan is gonna be an amazing daddy too. Before he and Reneé even met, he was always playing with and entertaining all of our kids. I even think he changed a few diapers! If any two people should be parents it’s these two. Congrats you guys, just a few more weeks till you meet your long awaited gift.

The baby’s nursery is too cute! Reneé has a great deorating style.

Kids grow up too fast!

April 17, 2009

While in Middle School, Megan used to come to my house some days after school.  She would hang out and watch Abra while I cleaned, etc… Now my Abra is 7 1/2, and Megan is graduating from HS in just a few weeks.  I’m sure Megan’s parents are wondering how the time passed so quickly. I’m sure that I will be there before I know it with my own girls. I hope that when we are there, I can say that my girls have conducted their lives with as much grace and integrity as Megan. Doesn’t get much sweeter and “gooder” (her mom was an english teacher, so I had to throw that in) than this girl! You did great Megan. I’m so glad I got to spend the afternoon with you.

Pure sweetnes.

Thanks Again Megan for a great shoot!!

I’m ringing in my brand new blog with a post including some of the cutest kids I know. Not only are they cute and wonderful, but their mom and dad are some of our very best friends. We have spent the past 5 days of our spring break lounging around, having laughs, and staying up way too late with them. All of our kids have been having the best time together. It has been just what our family has needed! Thanks J & R for letting us come. We love you guys. Can’t help but capture some beautiful images of these two and their amazing blue eyes!
